Top 3 Window Styles for Bedrooms

When it comes to choosing windows for your bedroom, factors such as aesthetic appeal, ventilation and ease-of-use have to be considered. Windows that make your room look brighter and more spacious can also make your stay comfortable, which, in turn, helps you relax and sleep better. In this post, a reputable window installer shares the top three window styles for bedrooms.

Bedroom Window

1. Casement Windows — Hinged at the side and open outward, casement windows are well-known for their excellent ventilation and energy efficiency benefits. These features will keep you cool on balmy summer days and warm in the winter, helping lower your energy costs over the years. Moreover, casements are fully customizable and relatively easy to clean and maintain.

2. Bay or Bow Windows — A bay window is a hard-angled window structure that consists of a picture window at the center and two different windows on both sides, whereas a bow window is essentially a curved bay window. With these best replacement windows, you can enjoy an expansive view of the outdoors, making them an ideal addition to smaller bedrooms. They also provide an extra room for other daily activities such as reading or meditating in the morning.

3. Double-Hung Windows — Double-hung windows are a timeless style that will complement any bedroom. These windows combine great performance and traditional look while maintaining their convenience for easy cleaning and maintenance. This style of window, however, offers a little less daylight than other window styles like casement or bow windows, but provides superior ventilation.

"Our windows were the original ones that were installed when they built the house in 1972. They wouldn't open, they had been painted shut. They were single pane and the glaze was cracked everywhere. I had to put plastic up every year to help keep the house warm at least a little bit. My MIL was surprised that there weren't any panes in the windows. Now she loves it. We have put a film on the windows so we can see out but no one can see in. We are loving it!"
